[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] AI tooling startup Sapiom has raised $15.75 million in seed funding led by Accel, a report said on Thursday. Alphabet Gradient Fund, Anthropic, Coinbase Ventures and Octa Ventures also participated.

Sapiom provides a platform that addresses payment issues that arise when AI agents use cloud services. Previously, developers faced a heavy burden because using external cloud services often required fixed costs or upfront payments. Sapiom has introduced a usage-based payment model to reduce unnecessary costs and supports integrated management of various payment models.

Developers can set budgets by agent tool and also make detailed cost controls. For example, they can limit spending by time of day or number of runs. If spending exceeds a set budget, the system can automatically end a session or send an alert to an administrator. The company said this helps prevent budget overruns without interrupting important tasks.

Sapiom also offers automated API key management. It reduces the hassle of manually managing API keys needed when AI agents interact with external tools while also providing security.
