Edge AI helps manage Seoul Rose Festival crowds as KIoT speeds smart city expansion

KIoT, a company specialising in AI video analytics solutions, is expanding technology pilots in smart city and industrial safety fields as it steps up market efforts. Founded in 2016, it cites AI object recognition and edge computing-based video analytics as core strengths. The company joined operations at the Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival this year, analysing congestion in real time and supporting coordination. It is also developing industrial safety and environmental systems and pursuing overseas PoC projects.

Ditonic, Muhan Information Technology partner on AI disaster response, smart farming global push

AI platform company Ditonic said on Thursday it signed a strategic partnership MOU with Muhan Information Technology for AI-based disaster response and a global expansion in smart farming. The companies plan to combine Ditonic’s AI platform infrastructure with Muhan Information Technology’s expertise in disaster and agriculture. They will cooperate on joint participation in public projects, joint R&D on an integrated data model, ecosystem guidelines based on global standards, and a joint entry into global AX markets starting in ASEAN.

BOK deputy governor says time to consider rate hike as inflation faces strong pressure

Yoo Sang-dae (유상대), deputy governor of the Bank of Korea, publicly raised the possibility of a rate hike, saying it is time to consider stopping cuts and increasing rates. Speaking in Samarkand on May 3, he said growth has fallen less than feared since the Middle East war, while inflation has risen more than expected. He said inflation faces significant upward pressure and the possibility of a signal at the May 28 meeting remains open.
