Hana Financial to expand lifecycle support for people with disabilities, from rehabilitation to financial services

Hana Financial Group will launch an integrated support programme to help people with disabilities enter society and live independently, covering rehabilitation, education, housing welfare, jobs and financial services. The group will provide customised assistive devices to 300 low-income children and teenagers with disabilities and run job-linked training for 85 people, including those with developmental and hearing disabilities. It will renovate 20 ageing residential facilities and provide vehicles, including lift-equipped compact cars.

MSIT to pursue R&D special zone supplementary budget program to support deep-tech startups

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said on April 21 it secured an additional 6 billion won in a 2026 supplementary budget for its R&D Special Zone Promotion program and will push ahead with “5 hubs, 3 special R&D special zones deep-tech support.” The ministry said the program aims to help regional economies recover and stabilize livelihoods. It will support deep-tech start-ups and early-stage companies through commercialization discovery and technology advancement support.

NH NongHyup Financial opens marine, aviation and defense support center in southeast region

NH NongHyup Financial Group said on April 14 it opened a marine, aviation and defense integrated support center in Changwon, South Gyeongsang, to strengthen support for the southeast region of Busan, Ulsan and South Gyeongsang in line with the government’s “5-pole, 3-special” balanced growth policy. About 50 people attended an event on April 13. The group plans to provide comprehensive financial services through affiliate collaboration and offer 10 trillion won in support over five years.
