KB Financial Group said on Wednesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for integrated support for regions, small and medium-sized businesses and young people.
The agreement calls for parallel implementation of three programmes, including support for young people, regional balanced development and small business support, in line with the government’s “5-pole, 3-special” policy direction. The two sides plan to provide a total of 2.5 billion won over three years.
KB Financial Group will provide a total of 300 million won over three years to the “Thousand-won Breakfast” programme that the agriculture ministry and local governments are jointly 추진 with universities. It will be operated mainly at universities outside the Seoul area.
KB Financial Group plans to provide a total of 1.6 billion won over three years and install solar facilities in idle rural spaces. Profits from power generation will be used as a local community fund. It plans to install the facilities at a total of 12 sites: 2 in the central region, 3 in the southwest, 2 in the Daegyeong region, 3 in the southeast and 2 in the Gangwon-Jeju region.
It will 추진 a “Hearty Lunch for Workers” support programme for employees at small businesses outside the Seoul area. KB Financial Group will provide a total of 600 million won over three years. About 400,000 people are expected to use it annually, with a total of 1.2 million people targeted over three years.
KB Financial Group plans to expand the foundation for sustainable co-prosperity through practical support that connects regions and generations, starting with this agreement.
KB Kookmin Bank, a key affiliate, has held events called “Sharing Love for Traditional Markets” using local currency since 2011. It also plans to provide more than 1.1 trillion won in loans this year for small and medium-sized enterprises and small merchants.
A KB Financial Group official said it was a support agreement for youth, regions and small businesses. The official said it would 추진 the programmes through public-private cooperation.
