Sharps Technology expands into Solana validator beyond treasury

U.S. medical device company Sharps Technology is directly participating in the Solana blockchain network as it seeks to expand decentralised infrastructure. The Block reported on Jan. 12 that Sharps will work with Coinbase to allocate 2 million SOL to validator nodes. Sharps said the validator launch is aimed at contributing to network security and decentralisation beyond its Solana token treasury strategy announced last year.

DAXA says cap on major shareholder stakes could hinder industry and market growth

The Digital Asset Exchange Alliance (DAXA) said it opposes the government's review of limiting major shareholders' stakes in virtual asset exchanges to 15 to 20 percent. DAXA warned the move could hinder development of South Korea's digital asset industry and market. It said forced ownership changes could weaken competitiveness, raise risks of users moving to overseas exchanges and dilute accountability for protecting user assets. It also cited potential damage to the venture ecosystem.
