OpenAI said on Wednesday it will jointly host an artificial intelligence training event in Seoul on May 8, Parents' Day, with Fastcampus, a practical training brand of Day1 Company, for seniors aged 50 and over.

The event will be held at the Seoul AI Hub Center for about 35 participants. It will include basic AI training, hands-on practice in planning and producing with ChatGPT, followed by presentations and awards. Participants will try out practical AI uses such as searching for information, everyday communication and making daily plans, and will also learn ways to prepare for a second career using generative AI.

Deeps De Silva (딥스 드 실바), OpenAI's head of education for Asia-Pacific, said, "We planned this so people can directly experience that AI is a tool anyone can use in everyday life." He added, "We hope seniors will receive practical help from generative AI not only in daily life but also in preparing for a new career."

A Day1 Company official said, "We have created an opportunity to enhance the senior generation's ability to use AI." The official added, "We will continue to expand AI education for seniors."
