Shinhan Bank holds event to mark SOL Travel debit card spending top 5 trillion won
Shinhan Bank said on Jan. 7 it will run events for customers using its SOL Travel debit card and SOL Trip & Shop debit card to mark cumulative spending on the SOL Travel card surpassing 5 trillion won. Through Feb. 20, it will offer My Shinhan Points and Starbucks Americano gift vouchers via prize draws. It will also provide points, airport lounge passes and overseas eSIM coupons for eligible SOL Trip & Shop users, and plans a tie-up event with Shilla Duty Free from Jan. 19.

Mirae Asset Tiger ETFs net assets top 100 trillion won
Mirae Asset Global Investments said on Tuesday its Tiger exchange-traded funds have exceeded 100 trillion won in total net assets. Korea Exchange data showed the combined net assets of 220 Tiger ETFs stood at 100.32 trillion won as of Monday’s close. Tiger ETFs, launched in June 2006, marked their 20th listing anniversary this year and doubled in size in about two years after surpassing 50 trillion won in March 2024.

NH Investment & Securities develops NHICS, Korea-specific industry classification system
NH Investment & Securities said on Tuesday it has developed NHICS, an industry classification standard specialised for the South Korean stock market, in cooperation with Koscom. The brokerage said it designed the system and classified listed firms, while Koscom will handle external provision and index calculation. The system classifies listed companies into three tiers and includes separate top-level categories for secondary batteries and holding companies.
