Apple sets stage for new MacBooks and iOS update from January
Apple is preparing more than 20 new products aimed at release in 2026 and may start unveiling fresh hardware and software as early as January. Reports expect new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, and a possible low-cost MacBook using the A18 Pro chip. iOS 26.3 and other OS updates are also expected this month, focusing on feature additions and fixes.

ITCEN Group to shift to AI solutions and services in 2026
ITCEN Group said on Jan. 5 it will completely restructure its business in 2026, moving away from a system integration-focused model to one centered on AI solutions and services. In its New Year’s message, it declared 2026 the first year of “Team ITCEN,” aiming to remove barriers between entities and unite groupwide capabilities. It set three execution measures, including an “All about AI” strategy, and Chairman Jin-mo Kang urged affiliates to build synergy.

KAIST develops chip to predict drug side effects
A KAIST research team has developed a bio-microfluidic system that reproduces in a laboratory the process in which drug-induced muscle damage leads to kidney damage. The modular organ-on-a-chip can connect or separate muscle and kidney tissues and links muscle tissue with proximal tubule epithelial cells on a single chip. The work was conducted with KAIST and Bundang Seoul National University Hospital researchers and was published in Advanced Functional Materials on Nov. 12, 2025.
