KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation is holding a contest to discover content using artificial intelligence (AI) and ideas to solve social problems.

KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation said on Tuesday it will hold the 2026 K-AI Content Contest in connection with the Ministry of Science and ICT's "Nationwide AI Competition". Under the slogan "AI for everyone, a better tomorrow we build together," the contest aims to foster a culture of responsible AI use and to find ideas that can be used to address social problems.

Entries will be accepted from July 1 to 15 on the contest website. Anyone from elementary school students to members of the public can take part, and submissions will be invited in content and solution categories. The content category theme is "safe and responsible AI use and what a future society coexisting with AI looks like." Elementary school participants should submit hand-drawn posters, middle and high school participants should submit generative AI images, and university students and members of the public should submit generative AI videos.

The solution category, introduced this year, will focus on "AI solutions to solve everyday problems." Middle and high school participants and university students and members of the public should use natural-language-based AI development tools to create and submit web or application services that solve problems in social, environmental and welfare fields.

To underscore social responsibility in using AI, the foundation also introduced an AI ethics pledge. During the submission process, participants must agree to a pledge to comply with personal data protection, respect for copyright, prevention of generating false information and transparency in AI use.

Winners will be announced in early August. A total of 44 works will be selected, with prizes totaling 54 million won. One overall winner across all categories will receive the title "K-AI Grand Master" and 10 million won. Winning entries will be shown through online and offline traveling exhibitions. Winning entries in the solution category will undergo AI expert mentoring and an advancement process, after which their potential for on-site application with relevant institutions and local communities will be reviewed.

Lim Jong-taek (임종택), chairman of KT Group Hope Sharing Foundation, said that in an era when AI technology has become part of daily life, a culture of using it responsibly is as important as the technology itself. He said he hopes the future generation will develop awareness of AI ethics and be able to present ideas for solving social problems.
