KT penalty-fee waiver drives cumulative loss of 150,000 customers

More than 150,000 customers have left KT since it began waiving early termination fees on Dec. 31, telecom industry data showed. From Dec. 31 to Jan. 8, cumulative cancellations reached 154,851, and 74.3 percent of those customers moved to SK Telecom. On Jan. 8 alone, total number portability was 53,919, including 24,252 KT departures. The industry expects cumulative KT departures to exceed 200,000 this weekend.
