Visa-linked stablecoin platform Rain raises $250 million in Series C funding
U.S. stablecoin infrastructure company Rain has completed a $250 million Series C funding round, Cointelegraph reported on Thursday. The round was led by global investment firm Iconiq, with existing investors including Galaxy Digital, Sapphire Ventures, Dragonfly, Lightspeed, Northwest and Endeavor Catalyst taking part. The funding values Rain at $1.95 billion and brings its total funding to $338 million. Rain offers a stablecoin card solution for global payments via the Visa network.

BNY launches tokenised deposit service for institutions
BNY Mellon is rolling out a tokenised deposit service for institutional clients, Cointelegraph reported on Thursday. The service will operate on the bank's proprietary permissioned blockchain network. BNY plans to add functions to support collateral and margin requirements. In September 2025, the U.S. SEC and CFTC issued a joint statement proposing a shift to 24-hour capital markets, saying longer trading hours would better match a global, 24-hour economy.

Microsoft Word makes it easier to insert links in documents
Microsoft is making it easier to insert links in Word documents. Previously, users had to open a menu or use the Ctrl+K shortcut to add a hyperlink. Under the change, users will be able to paste a link directly onto text. The Verge reported on Jan. 9 that Microsoft has significantly improved the link-insertion process. The feature supports web, Windows and Mac versions, with staged rollout and minimum version requirements.
