AI platform company Ditonic said on Sunday it was finally selected for the 'AI-specialised pilot city' project overseen by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, in cooperation with Cheonan and Asan and major AI companies.

Ditonic said it will work with Cheonan and Asan to standardise city data and convert it into formats usable by AI, laying an urban AI operations foundation that can run a range of AI services. It will support the shift of city data, which had limited use due to differing structures across institutions and mismatches in time and spatial information, into a "standardised AI city data system" that runs from collection and processing through to agent services.

Based on this, Ditonic plans to implement an urban operating system that uses agentic AI and physical AI, and to link and operate participating companies' AI technologies and services on a single platform.

Ditonic CEO Yong-ju Jeon (전용주) said, "AI city competitiveness comes not from individual technologies but from a platform ecosystem where diverse AI services operate organically." He added, "Ditonic will connect data and AI to build an AI city ecosystem with participation by various companies and institutions, and together with Cheonan and Asan we will work to implement a world-class AI city model."
