Budget cargo electric bike launches at under $800

A price-cutting model has entered the cargo electric bike market, with an under-$800 price tag seen as sharply lowering barriers to adoption. Buzz unveiled the $799 Beekeeper, placing it among the cheapest cargo e-bikes and less than half the cost of typical models priced at $1,500 to $4,000. The bike focuses on load convenience and stability, offers a claimed range of up to 64 km, and uses cost-saving components such as mechanical brakes and a hub motor.

Charles Hoskinson mocks Bitcoin quantum plan, says it cannot save Satoshi coins

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson criticised a Bitcoin developer proposal for quantum-computing defence, calling it effectively a hard fork. He said the plan could fail to protect early Bitcoin created before the BIP-39 seed-phrase standard was introduced in 2013, including coins believed to belong to Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin Core developer Jameson Lopp, a co-proposer, said the idea was for emergencies and hoped it would not be adopted.

U.S. CFTC chair says AI will boost oversight of crypto and prediction markets

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission will use artificial intelligence and automation to expand oversight of cryptocurrencies and prediction markets despite large staff cuts, the agency said. Chair Mike Selick (마이크 셀릭) told a U.S. House Agriculture Committee hearing that AI is being used actively in investigations and market surveillance. He said efficiency has improved even as staffing has fallen. The CFTC’s remit could expand further under pending digital asset legislation and growing prediction markets.
