Notion said on Wednesday it will support CJ CheilJedang’s Technology and Materials Research Institute in managing research knowledge and building a foundation for AI use.

The CJ CheilJedang institute plans to store and manage in Notion information generated during research processes, including research background, discussions and decision-making, in addition to its existing laboratory information management system (LIMS).

It aims to structure and manage research records, experimental data and meeting content by project, and later use accumulated information for AI-based search, summarisation and reporting.

CJ OliveNetworks is also taking part in the project, supporting the supply of Notion licences and the establishment of an operations management system.

Notion plans to build project-by-project research information management and reporting systems tailored to CJ CheilJedang’s R&D work, and also support integration with the existing LIMS. It plans to expand use to AI-based meeting records and reporting and decision-support.

Massimo Merigi (마시모 메리기), chief technology officer (CTO) for CJ CheilJedang R&D, said, "The goal is to build an environment where knowledge and context generated in the research field can be systematically accumulated and utilised."
