LG Uplus said on Wednesday it will participate as a media partner of the 22nd Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, which runs through Sept. 8 in and around Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, and operate a special section on U+tv.

This year's festival features 189 films from 51 countries and performances by 37 teams. The Jecheon Culture Theater, the main screening venue, will expand operations from 4 halls to 7. LG Uplus will introduce key festival programmes and works to U+tv customers and organise customer invitation events.

U+tv will operate a "2026 Jecheon International Music & Film Festival Special Section" for customers who find it difficult to visit the festival. The section will provide curated music films and performing arts-related works available on U+tv to match the character of the festival.

On the festival's opening day, U+tv will air a Jecheon International Music & Film Festival special episode of its content curation programme "Uplus TV Magazine". Festival Executive Committee Chairman Jang Hang-jun (장항준), announcer Sun-young Park (박선영) and Cine21 editor Kyung-won Song (송경원) will appear to introduce major films and programmes for this year.

The special will cover the opening film "Congo Boy", "Divine Comedy" in the newly established international competition section, and a special exhibition on Chinese film music composer Zhao Jiping. It will also introduce "Talk to You", where filmmakers meet audiences, the outdoor performance "One Summer Dream", and the all-night screening programme "Nocturne Special".

LG Uplus operates "U+ Stage", which provides domestic and overseas classical music, opera, ballet and video of art exhibitions free of charge. It has also continued activities to provide cultural and arts content, including a partnership with the Jarasum Jazz Festival and operating a dedicated hall for Korean independent arts films.

In-ho Oh (오인호), an executive director in charge of LG Uplus' media business, said, "We will continue to expand cooperation with cultural and arts institutions at home and abroad to provide customers with a differentiated content experience."
