Misoinfo said on Wednesday it has won a contract for a project to develop an AI system for public R&D budget review based on a proprietary foundation model, to support the Ministry of Science and ICT’s digital transformation of investment review work.
The project aims to build an AI system to support national research and development (R&D) budget review. The company said the system will analyse vast volumes of documents generated in the government’s R&D budget allocation and adjustment process, and support the preparation of review materials and the drafting of deliberation documents needed throughout the budget review process.
AI will conduct an integrated analysis of unstructured data in various formats, including budget requests, project briefing materials, planning reports and review opinions from expert committee members.
Misoinfo said it plans to use the AI and data capabilities secured through the project as a springboard to expand its business into the public-sector AI market, supporting budget, policy and administrative work for the government and public institutions, based on its data integration and analytics technology specialised across domains including healthcare, manufacturing, finance and defence, as well as its implementation experience and AI full-stack capabilities.
Misoinfo CEO Sang-do Nam (남상도) said, "This project will go beyond using generative AI as a simple work-support tool, and will become an important example of boosting decision-making efficiency and expertise by integrating AI into the specialised work of national R&D budget review." He added, "Based on the data platform and AI full stack that Misoinfo has accumulated, we will build a reliable AI business innovation model in the public sector and spread it to various public and policy fields."
