Pakistan sets up dedicated unit to probe crypto crimes targeting money laundering, terror financing

Pakistan has set up a dedicated investigation unit to respond to crypto-related financial crimes such as money laundering and terror financing. The Federal Investigation Agency placed the unit under the newly launched National Command and Control Centre, which consolidates financial crime functions. While the unit investigates criminal misuse, the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority oversees market regulation and operator supervision. Pakistan is also reviewing exchange licensing, tokenisation and cross-border stablecoin use, while religious debate remains a variable.

WebCash joins IBK Industrial Bank of Korea digital platform and AI banking build

WebCash has won an 8.72 billion won project to revamp IBK Industrial Bank of Korea's digital banking, building a digital platform, global banking and AI-based services with LG CNS and Finger. The company said it signed a supply contract with IBK System for the first phase of the IBK digital banking rebuilding project. The work is the first step in a three-stage roadmap and aims to lay a foundation for expanding services and follow-up platform construction.

JoyCity to officially launch 'Freestyle Reboot' on Aug 13

JoyCity said on Tuesday it has set Aug. 13 as the official release date for its new online basketball game, "Freestyle Reboot," and has begun pre-registration. The title was developed to carry on the legacy of JoyCity's original "Freestyle" intellectual property. The company said it keeps the 3-on-3 real-time match format and street basketball feel while using a new engine to improve graphics and character movement. It also plans to expand service globally after starting in South Korea.
