Netflix wins South Korea corporate tax suit, 68.7 billion won of 76.2 billion won cancelled

Netflix's South Korean unit effectively won a corporate tax lawsuit against tax authorities after a court ruled payments to its Dutch unit were compensation for services rather than copyright royalties. The Seoul Administrative Court ordered the cancellation of 68.7 billion won of the 76.2 billion won assessed. The case stemmed from a 2021 tax audit. Netflix had sought full cancellation of the remaining assessed tax in a suit filed in November 2023.

Initech launches zero trust-based ICAM solution to support N2SF adoption

Security firm Initech said on April 28 it will introduce an ICAM (Identity, Credential, and Access Management) platform targeting the zero trust security market. The company expects the platform to help companies respond to changes as the National Intelligence Service’s National Network Security Framework (N2SF) is fully implemented in May. It combines multi-factor authentication and single sign-on, and can adjust or revoke access when anomalies are detected.

HP pushes AI workstations to cut cloud reliance, expand local computing

HP is positioning so-called agentic AI as a core element of the next workplace and is expanding related hardware and on-device software. The company unveiled new AI PCs and workstation products in Seoul, along with its on-device AI platform, HP IQ. HP said the shift toward AI that understands and executes tasks increases demand for local computing, reducing cloud reliance while strengthening security and performance.
