K Bank launches limited ONE check card Pingu edition

K Bank said on March 9 it has launched a limited run of 50,000 ONE check cards in partnership with Pingu. The bank introduced four designs featuring Pingu, his sister Pinga and friends. It said previous limited character editions of its ONE check card have sold out in succession. To mark the release, K Bank is running a draw promotion through March 31, awarding 100 participants Pingu dolls and automatic umbrellas.

Naver Webtoon pilots global simultaneous serialization, payments up to 208 percent

Naver Webtoon said a pilot programme removing the publication time gap between its Korean and global services showed clear benefits in protecting creator income. The company aligned the return dates after hiatus for four Korean original webtoons across Korean and multiple global-language services. It said all four titles posted sharp increases in seven-day payments and weekly readers versus the eight-week average before the hiatus, with global payments up as much as 208 percent.

NST to hold monthly joint hiring with government-funded research institutes

South Korea's National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST) said on Monday it will conduct regular joint recruitment every month with government-funded science and technology research institutes under its jurisdiction. The programme is intended to address difficulties job seekers faced in predicting hiring periods due to differing schedules across institutes. This month, 14 institutes plan to hire 260 people, with applications due by March 18.
