Fortytwo Maru joins Busan to expand AI administrative services, develop tailored language model

Fortytwo Maru said on Thursday it will participate in Busan Metropolitan City’s project to expand and build “Busan-style AI services.” The project is the second phase of an effort to upgrade the administrative AI platform “AI Boogi Officer” introduced last year. The platform uses a small language model trained on about 160,000 city policy datasets and administrative documents and applies retrieval-augmented generation technology.

Lablup supplies AI model management software to Shinhan DS in first post-commercialisation deal

Lablup said on Thursday it signed a contract with Shinhan DS for a GPU management and API software rollout project and will supply its AI model management solution, Continuum Suite. It said the deal was the first supply case since the product’s commercial release, with Lablup responsible for the API software portion. The company also began a public subscription for retail investors from Oct. 22 to Oct. 23 and plans to list on the KOSDAQ on Nov. 3.

OpenAI says South Korea ranks third globally in weekly active Dots users

OpenAI said South Korea ranks third globally in weekly active users of its AI agent Dots, and is in the global top five for ChatGPT Pro users. The company said it held an "OpenAI DevDay Exchange: Seoul" event at Raum Art Center in Seoul on Oct. 22, attended by more than 600 developers and industry participants. OpenAI also demonstrated Dots features and heard how AWS and LG CNS apply AI agents in business settings.
