Pinda appointed Park Yeon-hyun (박연현), former head of the corporate product division at Toss Bank, as the first chief executive to lead its savings bank business. Park joined Toss Bank from its early stage and was responsible for developing joint loan products and its corporate finance business. Pinda plans to push ahead with a digital savings bank business using financial data and artificial intelligence technology, centered on Park.
Pinda said on Oct. 23 it appointed Park Yeon-hyun, former head of the corporate product division at Toss Bank, as the new CEO of "Pinda Savings Bank."
Born in 1989, Park majored in business administration and statistics at Korea University and worked as a financial strategy consultant at Deloitte Consulting. She later joined Toss Bank as an early founding member and took charge of preparations to establish the bank, management strategy planning and new business development.
She also led the development of Toss Bank's joint loan product "Together Loan." As project owner for the joint credit squad, she oversaw everything from product structure design to launch, then served as head of the strategy development team before becoming head of the corporate product division.
She also took part at Toss Bank in building operating systems for the bank, including finance and risk management, and planned businesses related to negotiable certificate of deposit partnerships and corporate banking.
Pinda plans to link its existing loan comparison and brokerage platform with its savings bank business, based on Park's experience developing financial products. It aims to use customer data accumulated on the platform for loan screening and product design, and to develop services that respond to individual financial needs by incorporating AI technology.
Park Yeon-hyun, CEO of Pinda Savings Bank, said, "Based on the data and customer understanding that Pinda has built up, I will design products that financial consumers actually need and create a new banking model using data and technology."
