IBK Industrial Bank of Korea to hold 'IBK KOSDAQ Boom Up Day' to support KOSDAQ revitalisation
IBK Industrial Bank of Korea is launching an investor relations support event to link listed companies and investors to help revitalise the KOSDAQ market and strengthen funding foundations for small and venture firms. The bank said it held the 'IBK KOSDAQ Boom Up Day' on May 12 to ease information asymmetry. It plans to expand IR opportunities and encourage research reports to lift market trust.

South Korea's benchmark KOSPI on May 12 fell to the 7,600 level after briefly nearing 8,000 intraday, as foreign selling intensified amid concerns about policy uncertainty. The index ended down 2.29 percent, while the KOSDAQ fell 2.32 percent. Individuals were net buyers, but foreigners and institutions sold. The won weakened to 1,489.20 per dollar. Bloomberg reported remarks on returning AI-related tax revenue to the public.

Bammitongwi launches second-term AI service user protection public-private council
The Broadcasting Media Communications Committee and the Korea Information Society Development Institute held a launch ceremony in Seoul for the second-term Public-Private Council on AI Service User Protection and convened its first meeting, it said on May 12. The council comprises 35 experts from academia, industry, the legal profession and civic groups, and is chaired by Seoul National University law school professor Lee Won-woo. The first meeting focused on institutional improvements to protect children and adolescents in AI services.
