People Power Party formalises push to abolish digital asset income tax

South Korea’s People Power Party is moving to abolish income tax on digital asset investors, saying it is more urgent to foster the market and protect investors than to impose excessive regulation. Party leaders met industry officials at Coinone’s headquarters in Seoul. Floor leader Song Eon-seok pledged to push through a bill to scrap the tax, calling the current system unreasonable. The party also said it will build a legislative roadmap based on industry requests.

Shinhan Financial to work with NC AI to upgrade channels based on physical AI

Shinhan Financial Group said it signed a memorandum of understanding with NC AI in Seoul to advance future financial channels using AI. The agreement aims to apply digital twin technology to financial channels to closely analyse customer experiences beyond partial data such as transaction logs and queue tickets. The partners plan to build a virtual environment mirroring branches, test scenarios, analyse visit patterns in real time and optimise layouts including counters and kiosks.

Shinhan Bank named Seoul public-private partnership exemplary organisation

Shinhan Bank said on March 25 it received a Seoul mayoral citation after being selected as a Seoul city-run 2025 exemplary organisation for public-private cooperation at a "New Year Spring Concert" held on March 24 at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. The award recognises organisations and companies that contribute to improving citizens’ quality of life and advancing city administration through public-private cooperation.
