LG CNS is seeking to expand its AI factory business by promoting modular data centers that are assembled on site after GPUs, servers, and power and cooling facilities are pre-manufactured.

LG CNS said on Sept. 30 it unveiled a pre-fabricated modular data center (PMDC) and an AI factory full-stack service at Data Centre World Asia 2026, held in Singapore on Sept. 29.

PMDC is a method of pre-manufacturing GPUs, servers, and power and cooling facilities needed for an AI factory in standardized modules and then installing them on site. It can reduce on-site processes compared with conventional data center construction. It can also expand infrastructure by adding modules when demand for AI computing rises.

LG CNS configured PMDC by combining its data center design, build and operate (DBO) technology with LG Electronics' modular cooling infrastructure and LG Energy Solution's battery solutions.

Based on this, it is also pursuing a modular AI factory business that builds small data centers in container form. It adds containers according to the required scale of AI computing without constructing a separate large data center building.

LG CNS has prepared a 4 megawatt IT-load power module based on Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin GPUs and a 1.2 megawatt module based on GB300. It plans to expand its product lineup.

At the event, it also unveiled an AI factory full-stack service based on Vera Rubin. The service integrates GPU as a service (GPUaaS), which provides Vera Rubin GPU resources in cloud form, intelligence services that support real-time training and inference such as physical AI, and integrated power and cooling technologies.

LG CNS is converting existing data center infrastructure into AI data centers while expanding infrastructure construction projects tailored to high-performance GPUs. It also plans to expand related business in overseas markets, including Southeast Asia as well as North America and Europe.

Kim Tae-hoon (김태훈), vice president and head of LG CNS' AI cloud business division, said, "An AI factory is a total service that combines data centers, GPU infrastructure and AI services." He said, "We will strengthen business competitiveness based on our capabilities in data center design, build and operate and AI infrastructure technology."
