South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT discusses ways to cooperate in AI and digital fields with senior overseas delegations.
The ministry on Sept. 30 holds the 12th Global ICT Leadership Forum with the National Information Society Agency at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul.
The forum marks its 12th edition this year since it was first held in 2015. Senior delegations from eight participating countries including Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos, Bhutan, Kyrgyzstan, Panama, Egypt and Uzbekistan attend. About 100 people from related organisations and AI specialist companies also take part.
The ministry shares South Korea's AI and digital policies and experience and reviews organisational constraints and policy tasks as developing-country governments use AI. It seeks cooperation tailored to each country's conditions and demand, based on South Korea's national digital innovation experience and the private sector's technical capabilities.
Ryu Je-myeong (류제명), second vice minister at the ministry, said, "It is time to create together a global digital order suited to the rapidly changing AI era." He added, "As a digital partner that grows together, Korea hopes to see cooperation with each country expand further."
