Google Photos unveils AI meme creation feature, lets users make memes from photos

Google has introduced a feature called Me Meme in Google Photos that lets users create memes using AI, TechCrunch reported on Thursday. The tool generates memes by combining photo templates with users’ images. Google said the feature is in testing and generated images may not perfectly match the original. The company recommended using bright, clear front-facing photos. It is rolling out to U.S. iOS and Android users.

Meta blocks teen access to AI characters until new version launch

Meta will block teenagers from accessing its AI characters across all apps until a new version is released, TechCrunch reported on Thursday. Russian government hackers behind attempted attack on Polish power grid

Russian government hackers tried and failed to attack Poland’s energy grid in late December, TechCrunch reported. Poland’s Energy Ministry said the attackers targeted two combined heat and power plants and sought to disrupt communications between wind turbines and power distribution operators. If successful, at least 500,000 households could have been affected by outages nationwide. ESET said the destructive DynoWiper malware points to Sandworm, linked to Russia’s GRU.
