[DigitalToday reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Google has introduced a feature called Me Meme in Google Photos that uses AI to let users create their own memes, TechCrunch reported on Thursday.

The Me Meme feature generates memes using AI by combining photo templates with users' images.

Google said the feature is in testing and generated images may not perfectly match the original photo. The company recommended using bright, clear front-facing photos.

Me Meme is part of a strategy to encourage users to keep using the Google Photos app, and more templates will be added later.

The feature will be rolled out gradually to iOS and Android users in the United States. Users can choose a template or upload one, then tap the 'Add photo' and 'Create' buttons to make a meme. The generated image can be saved or shared to other platforms, and users can also turn it into another version using the 'Regenerate' option.
