AI calendar startup Blockit, founded by former Sequoia Capital partner Kais Kimji (카이스 킴지), has raised $5 million in seed funding, TechCrunch reported on Thursday.
The company says Blockit uses AI to offer more intuitive and automated scheduling than existing calendar apps. It does not work by sharing links like Calendly. Instead, an AI agent learns users' schedules and preferences and coordinates suitable times.
Blockit says it aims to be an AI network that manages people's time, rather than a simple calendar app. For example, when 2 users set up a meeting, AI agents communicate directly to coordinate a suitable time. It operates through email or Slack. Users can enter meeting priorities or personal scheduling preferences, and the AI recommends schedules that reflect them.
More than 200 companies are using Blockit, including AI startup Together.ai, fintech company Brex, robotics startup Rogo, and venture capital firms a16z, Accel and Index.
Blockit is offered on plans priced at $1,000 a year for individuals and $5,000 a year for teams after a 30-day free trial.
