KB Financial holds group information security council to address AI-era risks

KB Financial Group said it held its first-quarter Group Information Security Council to build a safe financial environment, attended by information security executives from 11 affiliates and holding company compliance officer Choi Seok-moon. The council discussed key security tasks such as a mid- to long-term information security master plan, cybersecurity centre operations and an integrated security monitoring system. It also checked compliance measures for new laws and prepared group guidelines for emerging threats.

KAIST develops K-Braille braille translation engine, confirms 100.0 percent accuracy

KAIST said on March 13 that a research team led by Hyunwook Kah at its Rehabilitation AI Laboratory developed K-Braille, a next-generation braille translation engine, and completed large-scale performance verification. KAIST said K-Braille analyses sentence structure and context using morphological and sentence-structure analysis before converting text. Using the National Institute of Korean Language’s NLPAK dataset, the team evaluated 17,943 sentences and reported a 100.0 percent compliance rate with braille rules.

Crowdworks picked again as supplier for 2026 AI integrated voucher programme

Crowdworks said on Thursday it was selected for a second consecutive year as a supplier for the "2026 AI Integrated Voucher Support Programme" run by South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA). The programme provides demand-side companies, including small and mid-sized firms, medical institutions and small business owners, with vouchers of up to 200 million won to spur AI transformation from May through late November.
