Netflix BTS concert draws 18.4 million viewers worldwide on day of show; buffering and subtitle lag need fixes

Netflix livestreamed BTS' comeback concert at Seoul's Gwanghwamun Square and said 18.4 million viewers watched worldwide that day. The show was carried exclusively to more than 190 countries and regions, and Netflix said it ranked in weekly top 10 lists in 80 countries and was No. 1 in 24. Viewers reported buffering, freezes, low video quality, delayed subtitles and frequent audience shots, raising questions about unicast streaming limits during traffic spikes.

Bitcoin outperforms gold, S&P 500, strengthens status despite Middle East risk

Bitcoin has delivered stronger returns than traditional safe-haven assets such as gold and the S&P 500 despite geopolitical turmoil, The Crypto Basic reported, citing River Financial data. Since Feb. 28, bitcoin rose 12 percent, while gold fell 16 percent and the S&P 500 dropped 4 percent as Middle East tensions weighed on markets. River Financial data also showed bitcoin outperformed during other bouts of market stress, including U.S.-Iran tensions, the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Arm enters data centre CPU market with in-house spending; Meta is first customer

Arm Holdings is launching its own chip for the first time in its 35-year history and has secured Meta as its first customer. CEO Rene Haas unveiled the self-designed data centre CPU, called the AGI CPU, at an event in San Francisco. Arm has long licensed its designs to chipmakers such as Intel and AMD. The new product puts Arm in direct competition with some customers. Arm plans to manufacture the chip on TSMC’s 3-nanometre process.
