Akamai is adding AI-based features to its Guardicore Segmentation platform and strengthening zero-trust security in hybrid and multicloud environments, SiliconANGLE reported on March 24 local time.

The update analyzes application behavior to automatically create security policies and help security teams respond to threats faster.

It automatically identifies application behavior, generates and explains segmentation policies at scale, and simulates impact before deployment to verify stability.

Akamai said existing security solutions struggled to keep up with rapidly changing workloads, making it difficult to prevent attackers from moving laterally. To address this, Akamai added continuous discovery, customer-tailored intelligence, evidence-based enforcement and continuous assurance functions. This allows companies to reduce their attack surface and manage risk effectively.

Ofer Wolf (오퍼 울프), head of enterprise security at Akamai, said, "The new AI capabilities continuously learn risk and turn it into actionable protection, helping companies reduce their attack surface."
