Kurly launches AI Studio image generation service
Retail tech company Kurly has launched AI Studio, an image-generation service using Google generative AI. The service creates themed profile photos when users upload an image, and it is available in the Kurly app. Kurly offers one free pass per day, with additional passes available when users share with friends. The project began as a staff side project in mid-December and officially launched on Jan. 12, generating about 70,000 images in a week.

Korea Fintech Industry Association appoints Bidax CEO Ryu Hong-ryeol as vice chairman
The Korea Fintech Industry Association said it appointed Bidax CEO Ryu Hong-ryeol as vice chairman at a regular board meeting on Jan. 16. Bidax is a digital asset prime brokerage that supports access to domestic and overseas digital asset exchanges without asset transfers, offering trade settlement and payment functions for institutional clients. The association also appointed 8percent CEO Lee Hyo-jin and Zzulgoun CEO Lim Kwan-woong as new directors.

Neptune steps up adtech business, targets India market
Neptune said on Monday it will expand its adtech business this year with a focus on India. The company said it has discussed business strategy with Krafton for about six months since being acquired in April last year. Neptune plans three new initiatives: global adtech expansion, expansion of hybrid casual mobile games, and building a new demand-side platform. It said India-focused infrastructure and an SDK were completed in the third quarter.
