[DigitalToday reporter Seulgi Son] Ku Hyeok-chae (구혁채), first vice minister at the Ministry of Science and ICT, attended a symposium marking the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Korea Senior Scientists and Engineers Association on March 25 at the Korea Advanced Institute for Advanced Study. He congratulated the association on its founding.

The association is an incorporated body established in 2016 by senior scientists and engineers who retired from academia, research and industry. About 80 senior scientists and engineers from around the country attended the event.

Ku said South Korea has established itself as a global technology leader thanks to the dedication and wisdom of senior scientists and engineers. He said the ministry would actively support efforts so that their experience can contribute to strengthening competitiveness in advanced technologies and revitalising the research ecosystem.
