Flare CEO sees XRP evolving into yield-generating financial product

Flare Networks CEO Hugo Philion said he is strongly optimistic about XRP’s long-term value and expanding utility. He said XRP could evolve beyond a payments-focused digital asset into a financial product that generates real returns if usage on the Flare ecosystem scales. Philion said large amounts of XRP could be locked and used on-chain, enabling broader DeFi activity. Four U.S. economic events could sway bitcoin market this week

Bitcoin is holding near $92,000, with U.S. economic events this week expected to have a major impact on cryptocurrency markets. FuriosaAI seeks up to $500 million in investment, Bloomberg reports

South Korean AI semiconductor developer FuriosaAI is seeking $300 million to $500 million in new investment, Bloomberg reported on Jan. 20. The company has hired Morgan Stanley and Mirae Asset Securities and is preparing a Series D funding round. Its valuation was not disclosed. FuriosaAI raised $125 million in July last year at a valuation of $735 million. It was also reported to have rejected an $800 million acquisition offer from Meta.
