KakaoBank upgrades fraud detection system to use AI to stop voice phishing

KakaoBank said on Thursday it will strengthen financial crime prevention technology by using AI and a telecom authentication solution to protect customer assets from increasingly sophisticated voice phishing and other non-face-to-face fraud. It introduced the SurPASS telecom authentication solution and selfie verification to upgrade its voice phishing response. It will also apply AI-based detection that analyzes customers' call patterns to produce a risk rating and trigger additional reviews by its fraud detection system.

Neptune to launch new title 'Erpice' on Feb 5

Neptune said on Thursday it has confirmed Feb. 5 as the South Korean launch date for 'Erpice', a visual squad role-playing game it agreed to publish in July last year. The title is available for pre-registration and download via Google Play, Apple’s App Store, One Store and Galaxy Store, and also via phone number on its official website. Pre-registrants will receive in-game items and costumes, and additional rewards will be offered at launch.

K Bank and Musinsa win innovative financial service designation for finance-commerce tie-up

K Bank said on Thursday a “lifestyle commerce-based financial service” it applied for jointly with Musinsa and Musinsa Payments has been designated an innovative financial service by South Korea’s Financial Services Commission. The designation is part of a memorandum of understanding the two companies signed in August last year to pursue lifestyle commerce-based financial innovation. They plan to launch a new finance-commerce service by the third quarter.
