Mirae Asset TIGER KOSDAQ150 ETF net assets top 1 trillion won

Mirae Asset Asset Management said on Friday net assets in its TIGER KOSDAQ150 ETF have surpassed 1 trillion won. The Korea Exchange said the fund’s net assets stood at 1.0423 trillion won as of Jan. 29. The company said expectations for a “KOSDAQ 3000” and policy moves to advance capital markets and expand venture funding are seen supporting sentiment. Average daily trading value in 2026 rose to 130.2 billion won.

Ministry of Science and ICT holds awards for 100 best national R&D achievements

South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT held an awards ceremony on Friday in Seoul for the 2025 list of 100 best national research and development achievements. The programme, launched in 2006, selected 100 outcomes from 970 recommendations submitted by 23 ministries and agencies, following a public verification process. Winners can receive benefits in future project selection and evaluations, and may be recommended for awards. The ministry plans follow-up R&D to support maturity and commercialisation.

KOSPI hits record intraday high as SK Hynix touches 900,000 won

South Korea’s KOSPI set another intraday record high on Friday, lifting after a weaker open. At 9:27 a.m., the index was up 31.57 points, or 0.6 percent, at 5,252.82, after earlier reaching 5,261.24. SK Hynix rose in the 3 percent range and hit 906,000 won during the session. Individuals were net buyers, while foreigners and institutions were net sellers. The KOSDAQ edged lower.
