Naver signed a memorandum of understanding with EBS on Tuesday at Naver’s 1784 headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, to build knowledge video content.
Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon (최수연) and EBS President Kim Yoo-yeol (김유열) attended the signing. The two will jointly produce large-scale knowledge and learning video content. They will produce informational content on health, finance and the economy, as well as learning content reflecting elementary, middle and high school curricula, and will push to expand a knowledge video archive.
The produced content will be provided through major services including Naver Search, Home Feed and the encyclopedia service, aiming to help users understand information across the Naver platform.
Choi Soo-yeon, Naver’s CEO, said that as high-quality data has emerged as a core competitive edge in the era of artificial intelligence, Naver has pursued securing quality data and building an ecosystem. She said the cooperation is part of that effort and will combine Naver’s AI technology and platform capabilities with EBS’ content production capabilities to lead the expansion of a knowledge content ecosystem.
Kim Yoo-yeol, EBS president, said the agreement is a starting point for combining EBS’ production know-how with Naver’s AI technological capabilities. He said he would work to ensure the video content is used through Naver’s AI services and contributes to creating a digital environment.
