Google world model 'Project Genie' announcement sends game stocks sliding

Google's announcement of 'Project Genie', an AI model that generates 3D virtual environments, has rattled the game industry. Gigazine reported on Jan. 31 that shares of game companies including Take-Two, Roblox and Unity fell as much as 21 percent after the announcement, citing Reuters. The web app combines 'Nano Banana Pro' and 'Gemini 3', but has limits in accurately reproducing reality and in interaction within generated spaces.
