Neptune on Tuesday issued an official statement after its share price fell sharply following heavy on-market selling by an individual shareholder. It said the sale was a simple disposal of shares unrelated to the company’s management or business performance.

Neptune shares opened down 14.9 percent at 3,105 won from the previous session. As of 9:38 a.m., volume stood at about 1.5 million shares, up about 800 percent from the day before. The seller was an individual shareholder who does not participate in management, Neptune said, adding that the sale was to secure funds under the person’s asset management plan.

A Neptune official said the shareholder is not involved in management at all and will remain in a position unrelated to management. The official said there would be no impact on management in terms of the stake’s share of total listed shares or the ownership structure.

Neptune stressed the share-price drop was unrelated to business fundamentals and also disclosed its performance and the status of new businesses. The company posted consolidated revenue of 121.3 billion won and operating profit of 2.41 billion won in 2025, keeping profitability for a third straight year since 2023.

On the business side, it said discussions to maximise synergies with Krafton since being acquired in April 2025 have led it to pursue three new businesses: global expansion of its ad tech business, expansion of its hybrid casual games business and building a new DSP (demand-side platform). As part of that, it plans to set up an Indian subsidiary within April.

Game performance is also improving. New titles such as "Ururu Defense" and "Erpis" have shown early success, while "Eternal Return" saw revenue rise 45 percent from the previous season due to a collaboration with the "Persona5 The Royal" IP. "Geartruck" is also maintaining a steady revenue trend.

Chief Executive Yul-bin Kang (강율빈) said he hoped the sale would not be misunderstood as damaging the company’s intrinsic value or future growth potential. He said the essence of the business is solid and the company will do its best to enhance shareholder value.
