[Digital Today reporter Jinju Hong] Bitcoin’s stochastic RSI is showing almost exactly the same pattern as at the end of the 2022 bear market, raising expectations that an early-2023 rebound phase could be repeated.

According to blockchain outlet Cointelegraph on April 7, crypto trader Quantum Ascend said on X, formerly Twitter, "Bitcoin’s daily stochastic RSI is passing through the exact same zone as in 2022." The stochastic RSI (Stoch RSI) is a modified version of the traditional RSI and is used to more quickly capture overbought and oversold conditions and signals of trend changes.

In a comparison chart he shared, Bitcoin’s price and the stochastic RSI form a "double bottom" in late 2022 before moving higher together in early 2023. At the time, BTC/USD slid to $15,600, marking a multi-year low, and that zone later became established as the bear-market bottom.

Quantum Ascend added that the current pattern is "almost perfectly similar" and that it is rising above the exact same level at the same time. On the chart, the stochastic RSI is in a zone where it is trying to regain, or break back above, the midpoint of 50 out of 100 after 2 local lows in late January and late March.

Still, even though RSI signals have been seen in 2026, Bitcoin’s price rebound has not been strong. The market is also watching whether the weekly standard RSI forms a bullish divergence with price. In early 2023, the weekly RSI hit an all-time low on TradingView, but in 2026 it has not yet reached that level.

Some warn that downside risks remain. Some traders are concerned that a "bear flag" on the daily chart could break lower. Analyst Aksel Kibar (악셀 키바르) said, "We will know within a few days whether this pattern repeats or not." Whether the stochastic RSI regains its midpoint, weekly RSI signals and the development of the daily pattern have emerged as factors that could determine the short-term direction.
