Kim Jong-cheol (김종철), chairman of the Broadcast Media and Communications Commission, visited the Daejeon and Sejong area on Feb. 4 to review preparedness for disasters such as strong winds and wildfires and to hear views from the field. He urged the agency’s Daejeon branch to expand contact points with local operators and handle work fairly under law and principles. He later inspected safety and emergency systems at the Gyeryongsan transmission station and visited the Sejong Viewer Media Center.

Ecopro said on Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Foundation for the Promotion of Technoparks and Chungbuk National University’s industry-academic cooperation foundation to support the growth of regional ventures. Under the deal, Ecopro and its affiliates will share technical know-how with venture companies in North Chungcheong and expand an open-innovation model. Ecopro Partners will identify promising firms in the Cheongju special zone, while four affiliates will support technology verification.
