Hana Bank said on April 12 it signed a business agreement with Ridi (RIDI) to provide a new customer experience combining finance and content.

The agreement was set up to pursue various collaborations by combining financial services in Hana Bank’s mobile app, Hana OneQ, with Ridi’s digital content.

Hana Bank plans to incorporate Ridi content such as webtoons and web novels, comics and e-books into the 'Playground' page within Hana OneQ. It aims to build an environment where users can access financial services and cultural content at the same time.

Through this, the bank aims to shift Hana OneQ away from a finance-focused app and turn it into an 'everyday platform' reflecting customers’ daily lives and tastes.

Under the agreement, the two companies agreed to pursue providing benefits to let users experience Ridi content, giving away limited-edition goods for popular titles, and joint marketing linked to brands and services.

Starting with a first exclusive event in May, Hana Bank will pay 7 cash to 500 cash to all customers who participate on the Hana OneQ 'Playground' page. It will also hold an event to provide Ridi points by lottery in a range of 500 points to 10,000 points.

Hana Bank plans to use the collaboration to increase app dwell time and visit frequency among younger generations and strengthen links with its financial services.

It also plans to advance its AI-based marketing capabilities, including recommending personalised financial products by combining content consumption data and financial data.

Hana Bank CEO Lee Ho-seong (이호성) said the collaboration with Ridi was an attempt to expand the scope of the financial experience. He said the bank would continue a range of collaborations so customers can have new experiences in their daily lives through Hana OneQ.

Ridi CEO Bae Gi-sik (배기식) said combining Hana Bank’s platform and Ridi’s content made it possible to broaden customer touchpoints. He said the company would continue various collaborations to provide new value.
