NH Investment & Securities sets up digital asset team to prepare STO business

NH Investment & Securities has set up a dedicated organisation to respond to the inclusion of digital assets in the regulated system and the institutionalisation of tokenised securities (STO). It formed a digital asset task force on July 22 to identify business opportunities and build an execution base. The team will operate through Dec. 31, with an option to extend, and will prepare business models and short-term tasks ahead of an STO law due in February.

Small business credit scores to factor in sales, trading areas; 16 banks to apply 2.2 trillion won

A new credit scoring system for small business loan screening will start operating from late August, evaluating future growth potential using data such as sales, local trading areas, employment and online activity in addition to the owner’s past financial history. The scope will expand from 7 banks and 1.8 trillion won to 16 banks and 2.2 trillion won. Authorities also plan to use the model for a dedicated loan product and future guarantee reviews.

Warsh\'s second U.S. FOMC as oil back above $100 revives rate-hike expectations

Markets are factoring in the possibility that Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh could raise the policy rate at this week’s meeting. Oil prices have climbed above $100 a barrel as fighting between Iran and the United States resumes, reviving concerns about energy-driven inflation.
