Apple’s next MacBook Pro, expected to be unveiled in October, could add an OLED display, touchscreen support and remove the notch, an IT outlet reported. The product name may also be referred to as “MacBook Ultra” in some cases. OLED is cited as the biggest change, potentially improving blacks, contrast and battery life. The Mac is expected to keep trackpad-and-keyboard input as standard, with touch as a supplement.

E-Ink tablets may suit users focused on reading and writing better than an iPad, a review said. Engadget pointed to lower eye strain, better outdoor visibility and improved battery efficiency because E-Ink reflects external light and uses power mainly when updating the screen. The report also cited matte displays and lighter weight. But it said E-Ink devices struggle to match iPad colour range, sharpness and responsiveness, making video, web browsing and vivid content better suited to iPads or Android tablets.
