Dell Technologies on Wednesday unveiled the Dell XPS 16 Creator Edition, a creator notebook equipped with Nvidia's RTX Spark superchip. It is the first time the chip has been applied to the XPS series. It will be released in South Korea on Oct. 16.
RTX Spark is a chip that combines Nvidia AI, RTX graphics and unified memory on a single silicon platform. It features up to a 6,144-core Blackwell RTX GPU, up to a 20-core Grace CPU and up to 128 GB of unified memory. With a built-in full CUDA stack, it can run AI model prototyping, fine-tuning and inference locally.
The display is a 3.2K tandem OLED. It supports 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and delivers up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000 to 1. It has Pantone validation and factory calibration to a Delta E below 2. It is about 17.8 mm thick.
It includes an SDXC v7.1 card reader, HDMI 2.1b and 3 USB4 Type-C ports supporting up to 40 Gbps. It is Windows-based, allowing the use of Blender, DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Photoshop.
Yoo Sang-mo (유상모), president of Dell Technologies Korea, said, "AI is now evolving beyond the cloud into a technology that runs and is used directly on personal PCs," and added, "We will support creators and developers so they can handle large-scale workloads on a slim laptop."
