KB Financial chairman race narrows to three as Yang Jong-hee reappointment prospect grows
KB Financial Group’s chairman succession race has been narrowed to three candidates after its nomination committee conducted in-depth interviews. The shortlist includes incumbent Yang Jong-hee, former Woori Bank chief Kwon Kwang-seok and KB Financial executive Lee Jae-geun. Market observers see Yang’s reappointment prospects rising, supported by record earnings since he took office. Separately, ruling party-government discussions on governance are focusing on strengthening nomination committee voting procedures rather than legally limiting chair terms.
