KB Financial Group’s list of candidates for its next chairman has been narrowed to six.
KB Financial Group’s Chairman Nomination Committee held a meeting on Thursday and confirmed a shortlist of six candidates for the next chairman, comprising 4 internal candidates and 2 external candidates, it said.
The internal candidates are incumbent KB Financial Group chairman Jong-hee Yang (양종희), Jae-geun Lee (이재근), a division head at KB Financial Group, Chang-kwon Lee (이창권), a division head at KB Financial Group, and Hwan-ju Lee (이환주), head of Kookmin Bank.
The external candidates are former Woori Bank head Kwang-seok Kwon (권광석) and 1 candidate who requested anonymity.
Hwa-joon Cho (조화준), the head of KB Financial’s chairman nomination committee, said, "We will strive to ensure that the best CEO can be selected through a transparent and objective process of verifying and evaluating candidates, in line with the trust of shareholders and customers."
