KT launches 6G security expert group to address AI, quantum and satellite communications

KT said it has launched the 6G Security Insight Group, or 6G SIG, with the Korea Institute of Information Security and Cryptology\'s 6G Security Research Group to respond to next-generation network security technologies. The consultative body brings together industry, academia and research experts in 5G and 6G security. It plans to focus on 6G security architecture, AI-RAN security, quantum security and zero trust mobile network security, and to share trends at major standards bodies.

AhnLab\'s Q3 consolidated sales rise 23 percent on strong growth in network security business

AhnLab said on Oct. 28 it posted third-quarter consolidated sales of 79.5 billion won and operating profit of 10.9 billion won. Sales rose 23.1 percent and operating profit increased 38.7 percent from a year earlier. On a standalone basis, sales and operating profit rose 26.2 percent and 25.3 percent. The company cited triple-digit growth in its network security business and expanding demand for EDR and MDR.

Checkpoint Korea says AI security-first gains are taking shape, aims to expand firewall market share

Lim Hyun-ho (임현호), who took charge of Checkpoint Korea last November, said he aims to take an edge in AI security and use it to expand market share in firewalls. He said the company is seeing results and received high marks from customers during a proof-of-concept project last quarter. Checkpoint is focusing on its AI Defense Plane platform and AI-based CTEM solutions, while stepping up efforts to target the financial sector and invest in compliance infrastructure in Korea.
