U.S. SEC approves KPI-linked options for crypto-related stocks, launch expected this month

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has approved options linked to key performance indicators for 23 listed crypto-related companies including Coinbase, Robinhood and Mara. Payouts depend on whether preset KPI thresholds are met rather than earnings releases. The contracts are to be listed by Cboe Global Markets and pay $1 if the prediction is correct. Trading cannot begin until Cboe Clear U.S. completes a separate registration step.

Tom Lee warns KOSPI plunge shock may spread to crypto market

Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee, known as an Ethereum bull, warned that a sharp fall in South Korean stocks could lead to additional selling in the cryptocurrency market. He said losses in the local equity market could spill over into other risk assets as investors cut exposure or face margin-related forced selling. Lee described the situation as “short-term pain” and mentioned Ethereum, highlighting short-term downside risks.
