Apple may release a fully revamped next-generation MacBook Pro as early as this autumn, with market speculation suggesting it could debut under the name “MacBook Ultra”. The device is expected to feature a new design including an OLED display, a touchscreen and Dynamic Island. Mark Gurman said Apple often unveils new Mac products in late October. Ongoing instability in memory supply could delay production and push the schedule to early 2027.

Apple has fixed a serious security vulnerability in the screen-sharing feature across three macOS updates. The measure applies to macOS Sonoma 14.8.9, macOS Sequoia 15.7.9 and macOS Tahoe 26.6.1. Apple initially said the releases included important security fixes and were recommended for all users, then later disclosed details on its security release page. The bug could allow network attackers to bypass authentication without valid credentials.
